Rank Promotions
In order to rise in rank a member fulfills a defined task, so-called grade step tasks, for the organization. Upon confirmed fulfillment the member is eligible for a rank promotion. Often the rank promotions are coming into effect and are announced during member meetings.
Certain rank promotions such as promotions of rank attributes or rank titles, so-called rank step tasks, require fulfillment of additional tasks.
The definition of the task requirements is in development.
Rank Privileges and Obligations
Some ranks grant permanent privileges to the member holding the rank. These privileges are either representative, such as the right to wear an insignia of the organization, or functional, such as the right to vote in decision-making polls or Council member elections. Most official offices of the organization have a required minimal rank.
Some ranks confer permanent obligations upon the member. These obligations are either concerned with assuming a duty within the organization (for example becoming a consultant) or with taking responsibility for new members (for example as a mentor).
The definitions of the rank privileges and obligations are in development.
Honorary Ranks
The Council may decide to grant a member honorary ranks for outstanding performance or exemplary behavior. In this special case the member does not need to fulfill the tasks normally required for a promotion. Rank step tasks cannot be skipped this way.
